In May of 1975, a few brothers gathered together to establish weekly Islamic School and a Mosque for the gorwing Muslim Community in the Flushing area. Alhdamdulillah (Praise be to God), Muslim Center has completed over thrity six years of it’s community services.
With a humble beginning in a rented apartment at 41st Avenue in Flushing, the Muslim Center came into existence. The Muslim Organization of North America appointed Brother Mohammad Tariq Sherwani as the first administrator of the Center, and three other brothers as Advisors. The first general body meeting was held on the first Sunday of November 1975. It was decided to incorporate the Center so that it may function independently.
We acknowledge and appreciate the dedication and commitment of all the office bearer of the Board of Trustees & Executive Committee of the Muslim Center since its inception and pray to Allah T’ala to reward them and their families immensely here as well as in the hereafter.
